To the editor:
This is in reference to the June 2 article about the future expansion of Clarkesville Elementary.
To Assistant Superintendent Patrick Franklin and the Board of Education proposing to create a back entrance into the school on Beaver Dam Rd along with this expansion, I wonder if you would be so quick to propose this if you lived on Beaver Dam Road?
Had you even considered how this would affect my driveway as well as my neighbor's since both of us live right by this new entrance? We have enough traffic whipping through here for a shortcut to the Trade School. I can just imagine how I will be sitting at the front of my property and can't turn in or out of my driveway due to the backed up traffic.
When traffic is backed up like it is on Route 115, how is the traffic flow going to maneuver around these stopped vehicles? Plus there is a bad curve one can't see around. How many accidents are going to happen there?
I wonder if there will be any public hearings on this issue. If so, when?
