President looking weak

To the editor: A while back I wrote a letter after viewing side by side pictures of Vladimir Putin and Barack Hussien Obama after a Russian visit by B.O. The comparison was striking. Putin was sitting astride a horse, sans saddle. He was tanned, well muscled and stared smugly into the camera. B.O. , on the other hand, was sitting astride a tiny bicycle.

I could not tell if it included training wheels. He was adorned with apparently every conceivable piece of protective equipment available. His toothy grin stretched from ear to ear. I remember thinking that America could not look any weaker. I was so wrong. Follow along and pay attention.

In February 2022, black American basketball player, Brittney Griner was arrested in a Russian airport carrying illegal drugs. She pled guilty and began serving a prison term. The American public naturally imploded. This was certainly not acceptable. There were the required protests, marches and demonstrations. Blacks and other pro-right folks demanded her immediate release. After all, this was modern day America.

Putin found it humorous and ignored their rant. He demanded the release of a Russian spy imprisoned in America in exchange. Sleepy Joe, being the tough guy that he is, blew the idea off. I wish to mention several key parts of this circus. Both our president and vice-president contacted this woman’s wife personally.

At this time, there was a white American who had been in a Russian prison for 4 ½ years, unfairly according to our government. He was, apparently, not deserving of this type of attention. With bated breath, you might ask, “Clardy what could have possibly happened?” We pride ourselves on being a fair country,  treating everyone the same. Don’t we?

Lets examine the results of this fiasco. To summarize quickly, Griner is back in the United States. Certainly did not want to miss the holidays. The Russian spy is back in Russia.  Surprise! Surprise!

“What about the white American prisoner, held for 4 ½ years ?” you might inquire. The answer – He will be celebrating Christmas in a cell conversing with family by phone. Sleepy Joe explained that he, personally, is “ diligently working” to bring him home. I would love for a Biden soldier to bravely step forward and critique your president’s actions. I know you must be proud. I would add that I personally have never understood  a person with the commitment to vote yet lacking  the courage to support.

Bobby Clardy
