To the editor:
The definition of accountability is when an individual or department experiences consequences for their performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization and for a society. Without it, it is difficult to get people to assume ownership of their own actions because they believe they will not face any consequences.
Have you seen what is going on in America today? Is anyone being held accountable for their actions or are they putting the blame on others? People are taking other’s lives and destroying other people’s property and their businesses and most are not being held accountable. Law and order is a thing of the past in America. I can’t believe what some judges and courts are doing or what they are not doing in America today.
America has come a long way from 245 years ago but are we trying to return to those days of the past? In my lifetime I have seen a lot of positive improvements but lately I see just the opposite. I can’t believe all the hate and racial divide that is being promoted in America today, yes I said promoted and I mean some are just trying to cause hate and racial divide. I told my wife the other day; I would like to know just who these complainers are and the real reason for their complaint. If you don’t believe in the Bible and you are not a Christian, I guess accountability has no benefit.
For those who do believe and want to receive God’s promise of a pleasant life for eternity, accountability is the main goal. The Bible is very plain and demanding that some day we all will be held accountable and no transfer of blame will be accepted. This is where Jesus comes into our outcome and our future and eternity. Some refer it to the coming to Jesus moment. I pray that you have had that moment that we all will have to have.
Know this; there is no lawyer that can distort the truth to God! The very last book in the bible is very plain (Revelations 14:12) – Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
