We need senior housing

To the editor: Since Clarkesville says that it is a great place to retire, why do they not have decent housing for seniors? I would love for someone to start a housing development in an area close to downtown, so we could use a golf cart. For some reason they have approved for this area, but it is not very convenient to use a golf cart.

Seniors, like me, want a small home to downsize, maybe a tiny home community. I keep seeing the builders build large homes for hundreds of thousand dollars. That is crazy, I don’t want a large home anymore. I want less to take care of, and more things to do in this area, kind of like resorts in Florida. Is there any builder or company out there that would consider this type of area close to downtown?

I would rather stay in this area but am considering moving to an area that has these conveniences.
