With this week being a GHSA “Dead Week” no organized activities for Habersham Central athletics took place.
This year, it represents the calm before the storm. In mere weeks, school will be in session and the HCHS campus will be fluttering.
Volleyball tips things off on Aug. 3. The following day, the Raiders hit the gridiron for a scrimmage. Aug. 8 will mark the first date of the new school year in which multiple Habersham varsity sports compete on the same day, including volleyball and softball.
What about Cheer and Cross Country? They’re back too, baby!
By the halfway point of August, all five fall sports will be up and running.
We have but a 42 day wait to see Raider Stadium lights shine bright into the Mt. Airy sky for football’s home opener against Stephens County.
This week may be “dead,” but the Raider buzz is very much alive. We’re in the home stretch, folks. Buckle up and get ready to ride.
