Lady Raiders battle Lassiter in state playoffs opener

   Habersham Central's girls basketball team advanced to the 6A Sweet 16 for the second time in three years with a 53-40 win over Lassiter on Tuesday night.

   Kyia Barrett followed up being named Region 8-6A player of the year with a 26-point performance, and Gabby Santiago had a huge game with 13 points off the bench.

   The Lady Raiders (19-8) will play at Langston Hughes High School on Friday in the second round.
