Indians take second at Providence
Tallulah Falls brought home a second place finish at the Providence Easter Meet last Thursday, with several Indians bringing home first-place finishes and personal bests.
Simeon Respress set a school record in the long jump, leaping 22-5.75 feet to take the event’s top spot. Respress also won the boys high jump as well.
Like Respress, the boys team had several other top finishers that helped vault them to a second place finish. Grey Bourlet also brought home two top finishes in the 100 meter hurdle and the 300 meter high jump.
Both Respress and Bourlet joined Evan Prince and Henrry Xiong to finish first in the 4x400 meter relay, and the quartet of Kale Corbett, Walker Bailey, Xiong and Prince also won the 4x800 meter relay for the Indians.
Prince won the 800 meter run as well.
The Lady Indians also grabbed a second place finish at Providence Christian Academy. Macy Murdock paced the team last Thursday, earning three first place finishes in the 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and high jump.
Behind Murdock, Kailyn Neal brought home runner-up honors in the 3200 meter run, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Murdock, Lucy Ladd, Molly Mitchell and Julianne Shirley also got second in their event.
