Raider baseball alum Peyton Irvin was named to the All-USA South West Division Second Team Thursday. After a solid debut season in 2020, Irvin became one of Piedmont’s most reliable hurlers this season. In 2021, he ranked second on the team in both innings pitched, with 77.1, and wins with eight.
Former Lady Raider Paige Cook was named to the All-SEC Newcomer Team last week. Cook, a sophomore, has started every game this season for Mississippi State and currently ranks fifth on the team with a .272 average. She also leads the team in triples and has three home runs. TFS track takes 3rd place in state

Tallulah Falls’ men’s track and field team saved its best for the last meet of the year, posting a third place finish at the state meet at McEachern High School last weekend. The third-place finish is TFS’ best team finish in program history.

Raiders close well at state

Appletree Alley’s facelift in Cornelia is almost done. City Manager Donald Anderson said the project should finish up in the next week or two, despite being slightly delayed by rainfall a couple of weeks ago. Discussions about the $1 million streetscape construction project began in 2013.

Being in the hospital is difficult for anyone, but “Miss Cheryl” always did her best to brighten patients’ days. Cheryl Crumley, 63, passed away Friday after more than four decades of service to Habersham Medical Center as a food service supervisor.
