Teachers begin prepping for new year

As students enjoy their last week of summer, Habersham County school teachers are preparing their classrooms for another year of learning. The first day of school for the Habersham County School System is Wednesday, Aug. 7.

6 agencies bring men into custody

Two men are in custody after leading local law enforcement on an hours-long chase Thursday afternoon, an official confirmed. Lt. Matt Wurtz, public information officer with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), confirmed for The Northeast Georgian the men were captured around 1 p.m.
