Decking the tree

Justin Garrett of Cornelia Public Works adds ribbon to the city’s Christmas tree Wednesday afternoon. The public works crew — including Jud Pitts, Kevin Clark and Dale Herbert — were filling the tree with ornaments throughout the day. The city plans to hold its tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

Intoxicated man fires gun, arrested

By Hannah Caudell Deputies arrested a Cornelia man on Friday under dangerous circumstances for both Habersham residents and the man himself.  Linton Gordon Adams, 28, of Cornelia was reported to be walking near Garrison and Mud Creek Road.

Road closure Saturday for shelter construction
