No one harmed after hydrogen alarm causes concern at Ethicon

   Around 11:45 a.m. Monday, Cornelia Fire Department along with Demorest Fire Department and Habersham County Emergency Services responded to Ethicon for a hydrogen alarm activation.    As units arrived the plant had already been evacuated.

Cornelia crash brings down power lines

   A two-car crash Monday morning on Cannon Bridge Road knocked out power to several businesses and closed the road for nearly seven hours.    Around 9 a.m. Monday, a 2010 Honda CR-V driven by Cassandra Marsengill, 27, of Cornelia struck the rear of a 1999 Ford F350 pickup.

Vaccines picking up as more folks become eligible

   Business is about to pick up at the Habersham County COVID-19 vaccination site, where federal and state officials hoped to administer twice as many shots per day starting Monday.

Mt. Airy seeking grant, loan for new patrol car

   Mt. Airy’s Town Council approved documents Wednesday to seek a grant and loan from the USDA for purchase of a new police vehicle.    The patrol vehicle will be a fully-equipped 2021 Dodge Charger at a cost of $32,800. The town has just two vehicles in its police fleet.
