Cook remains a positive voice in the community

   Cornelia Commissioner Tony Cook has been in office for nearly a quarter-century. He was born and raised in Habersham County, and he has spent 66 years trying to make it a better place.

Teachers put their best arm forward for vaccinations

   The Habersham County Board of education had a lot to celebrate on Monday.     Aside from it being Board of Education Appreciation Week, Superintendent Matthew Cooper shared that plans were set in place for teachers to get vaccinated against COVID-19 starting tomorrow.

Habersham Central's prom set to return April 24

   Habersham Central moved its prom to late summer last year due to COVID-19 before ultimately cancelling the event.    The Raiders plan to bring prom back this year, though, and the event is scheduled for to be on campus in an open-air event Saturday, April 24.

Officer avert potential murder-suicide

   A 71-year-old Cornelia man was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and two counts of aggravated assault after storming out of a doctor’s office allegedly stating “he was going to kill his daughter and then kill himself.
