Last week, students, teachers and mentors from Habersham County schools came together at Tallulah Falls School to celebrate their faith at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Fields of Faith event.
The gathering and fellowship was a chance for young people to share their testimonies, while also being lifted up by those who have more life wisdom to share with them. They heard testimony to help guide them in their spiritual and emotional growth as productive and morally sound young people.
FCA holds a similar event at Habersham Central every year, and these events have served to bind our community together and spread expressions of faith across the generations.
On Thursday, the National Day of Prayer will be celebrated throughout our county with stops in every municipality during the day.
The amount of energy our community invests into bolstering and expressing our Christian faith is a testament to the kind of values we collectively support. The strength of the good people of Habersham County comes from their strong Christain faith and makes this place so special as a community.
However, many communities across our nation have lost their way, and much of that comes from the deterioration of Christian and family values. Our families, church and school communities have made it a priority to instill these imperative values into our young people from an early age.
When we spend more time coming together in faith rather than dividing ourselves with radical politics through social media and gossip, we build the kind of thriving community within which people want to raise their children, run their business and build a foundation for a life well lived.
Having this strong Christian faith and being willing to share it with others is a great source of energy to enrich the lives of everyone we touch daily.
Habersham County, we do so many things right. And one of those is our Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We applaud all who are involved with supporting and leading this program.
This Thursday there is an opportunity for all of us to pray for our community, state and world. Please find more information on the National Day of Prayer on Page 2.
God Bless Habersham County, Georgia and the United States of America.
