TFS track third at Stephens County
Tallulah Falls’ varsity track teams went to Stephens County for a Monday meet. Both the boys and girls placed third among five schools.
Sofia Rueda set a pair of personal records in the hurdle events, winning the 300 meter hurdles. Molly Mitchell was first in the 800, Julianne Shirley was first in the High Jump and 200, and two girls relay teams placed first. The boys meanwhile were led by Sam Ketch and his first-place finish in discus. Two relays for the boys were the top times at the meet as well.

Volleyball tryouts set
Habersham Central will hold volleyball tryouts next month. Varsity and junior varsity tryouts will be Wednesday through Friday, May 3-5, from 3:45-5:30 p.m. for upcoming 9th through 12th grade girls. Middle school volleyball tryouts also will be held at HCHS Monday through Wednesday, May 8-10, from 3:45-5:30 p.m. for upcoming 6ht through 8th grade girls. A current physical is required. Piedmont hoops camp
Piedmont University’s annual summer basketball Camp will be July 31 to Aug. 3. This is during Habersham and Tallulah Falls teacher work days. The morning camp will be for rising 1st-6th grade and the afternoon will be an advanced instruction/3v3 camp for rising 7th-9th grade.
Summer Basketball Camp (July 31-Aug. 3, 8 a.m.-noon, rising 1st-6th grade boys and girls). This camp uses both on campus gyms to help separate campers based on age, gender, and skill level. This camp is good for beginner and more advanced players with a focus on having fun while working on basketball fundamentals through drills and competitive games. Cost is $110 and includes a camp t-shirt.
Advanced Instruction/3v3 Camp (July 31-August 3, 2-4 p.m., rising 7th-9th grade boys and girls). This camp is geared toward older and more advanced players. Camp will be one hour of instruction and one hour of live 3v3 play using the constraints taught during the first hour. Campers will be separated based on gender for 3v3 play. Cost is $70 and includes a camp t-shirt.
