The Hurricane Swim Team finished another successful summer season by qualifying for the state meet in Moultrie in July.
The Hurricanes competed in both the GRPA District 7 Championships and the North Georgia Swim League Championships.
At the District 7 Meet, the Hurricanes qualified 26 swimmers to go to state and had several District 7 Champions including:
Jameson Thompson – Boys 8 & under 25 yard freestyle and 25 yard backstroke;
Boone Roberts – Boys 10 & under 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard Back Stroke and 25 yard butterfly;
Logan Thompson – Boys 10 & under 25 yard breaststroke;
Jayden Martinez – Boys 14 & under 50 yard Freestyle, 50 yard butterfly and 100 yard Individual Medley;
Caden Polley – Boys 14 & under 50 yard breaststroke and 50 backstroke;
Leah Culpepper – Girls 18 & under 50 yard breaststroke;
Obed Miranda – Boys 18 & under 50 yard breaststroke;
Boys 10 & under 100 yard Medley Relay consisting of Boone Roberts, Lincoln Penland, Logan Thompson and Jameson Thompson.
Boys 14 & under 200 yard Medley and Free Relays consisting of Montgomery Roberts, Caden Polley, Jayden Martinez and Teagan Penland
In the North Georgia Swim League Championship, the Hurricanes earned the second place Team High Point Trophy, six Individual Overall High Point Trophies and 52 Individual Medals which are earned for first, second or third place in Individual Events.
Individual Trophies included:
Boone Roberts – first place, 10 & under Boys;
Jayden Martinez – first place, 14 & under Boys;
Caius Irving – second place, 6 & under Boys;
Jameson Thompson – second place, 8 & under Boys;
Leah Culpepper – second place, 18 & under Girls;
Josh Martinez – second place, 18 & under Boys.
North Georgia Swim League Individual Champions are:
Jameson Thompson – 8 & under, 50 yard freestyle and 25 yard backstroke;
Boone Roberts – 10 & under, 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard breaststroke, 25 yard backstroke and 25 yard butterfly;
Jayden Martinez – Boys 14 & under, 50 yard freestyle, 50 yard butterfly and 100 yard freestyle;
