Fresh off the conclusion of their historic 2022 season, five members of the Habersham Central girls soccer team were given all-region honors.
Sarah Clark – who set the school record for goals in a single season with 27 – and Anna LaBarbera – who owns both the single season and career assist record – were both named first team all-region.
Riley Wilson – who set the school record for most shutouts in a single season with seven – was named second team all-region, along with Sydney Turner and Paisley Cathey.
“Paisley will be a Region Player of the Year within the next year or two, there’s no doubt,” coach Jeff LaBarbera said. “I’m really happy for Riley Wilson too. She just started playing soccer as a freshman. The girl’s only been playing for two years and she’s really come a long way.”
After leading the team to the No. 2 seed in the region thanks to 13-5 record overall and a 9-3 record in region play, LaBarbera was named the Region Head Coach of the Year.
