Bill Bradley resigned from his role as Habersham Central High School's girls basketball head coach. He confirmed his resignation to The Northeast Georgian Friday afternoon.
He led the Lady Raiders for eight years. Bradley reached his 100th victory at the program’s helm last season.
“I love our kids and am proud of the program we have built,” Bradley said Friday. “Our parents have been more than what my wife and I could have ever imagined. It has been a great experience with these teams. One I will not soon forget.”
Last season, the Lady Raiders made it to the Sweet 16 with two starting freshmen, Sadie Chambers and Tessa Violet Murdock. Chambers was an AllRegion player last season and Murdock was Region 8-AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year.
After beginning the season 0-4, they were still just 3-9 following a tough loss to start that January. However, from Jan. 7 on, the squad won 10-of-12 and at one point, produced a six-game win streak. Entering the GHSA 5A state tourney as a No. 1-seed, the Lady Raiders (13-11) drew a favorable opening round matchup against No. 4-seeded Northside High School in Warner Robins.
