Habersham Central cruised its way to an emphatic 52-17 romp of Alcovy Friday in Covington.
"I'm proud of our guys and the focus they had tonight," HCHS Coach Benji Harrison said after the victory. "They were able to flip the switch and get the job done."
The Raiders played their cleanest game of the season by far, not turning the ball over a single time and only getting flagged once.
Most impressive was Habersham's ability to capitalize on all 8 of its trips to the red zone.
Quarterback Paris Wilbanks completed 14 of his 16 passing attempts for 158 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Running back Donnie Warren had 14 carries for 109 yards and a score, while fellow RB Antonio Cantrell had 6 carries for 39 yards and 2 TDs.
Wide receiver Zeke Whittington had another big game, securing 8 catches for 74 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Amongst a bevy of Raiders that had stat-padding nights, it was senior utility man Landyn Savage who stole the show. Savage led the team in tackles and added both an interception and touchdown reception on offense.
With the win, the Raiders improved to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in Region 8-5A.
