TFS teack team prepares for area meet

Tallulah Falls School’s track and field team used the Athens Academy meet to prepare for next week’s Area 6 Championship.

Though low key, the meet was certainly competitive and provided opportunities for various records, and was the final meet for some of the team. The girls 4x200m relay team, consisting of Dani Prince, Jace Ibemere, Julianne Shirley, and Macy Murdock, broke the school record by two seconds in victory and are now ranked No. 2 in Area 6 and eighth in Class A-Pvt.

Murdock and Prince went one-two, respectively, in both hurdle races. Other victories included Ibemere in the triple jump, the 4x1 relay (Prince, Ibemere, Bree Wood, Shirley) and the 4x4 relay (Molly Mitchell, Caroline Ball, Shirley, Murdock).  Shirley finished second in the high jump.

Other highlights include personal records by Sofia Rueda Alvarez, Sandra Badia Cester, Tahj Charlton, Jane Ibemere, and Jovana Dermanovic.

Top scoring boys include a 1,600m second place from Zhigao Henrry Xiong and third place finishes from Tyler Brown (300 imh), Nana Amankwa (TJ), Sam Ketch (shot), and the 4x4 relay team (Blair Moore, Xiong, Brown, and Jackson Cording).

Personal records were also set by Ade Akisanya, Amankwah, CJ Augustine, Timothy Beck, Aarington Brown, Jackson Cording, Nnamdi Ezunu, Clay Kafsky, Grayson Penland, Jackson Shadburn, Nelson Wilkinson. The 4x100 relay (Amankwah, Moore, Ezunu, KC Respress) set a season best.
