Husband-wife team earns annual Rotary Club awards

   The Habersham County Rotary Club honored two longtime members on Thursday.    Phillip Smith, the president and owner of Cornelia-based Compass Pest Management, was presented with the W. Lee Arrendale Vocational Excellence Award.

Funny money infiltrating Northeast Georgia

   Counterfeit money is making its way around Northeast Georgia after multiple sightings in the last week.    On June 4, deputies were called to Dollar General in Mt. Airy regarding a man who passed $480 worth of counterfeit $20 bills there, according to a Habersham County Sheriff’s report.

Baldwin approves budget, CAO salary increase

   The City of Baldwin approved its budget for fiscal year 2025 which included a salary increase for Chief Administrative Officer Emily Woodmaster.     The budget was approved 3-2 with council members Joseph Satterfield and Maarten Venter voting no.

Tallulah Falls athletics set for move to GIAA

Hapkido students show off their talents
