Stephen Martin and his wife Marilyn didn’t plan on celebrating two grand openings this summer, but it looks like they will be. As for Lawrence Bridges, this was all part of his plan.

A century of history was lost this week when the old Mud Creek Grocery store was torn down. Judy Erwin, whose family ran the store for decades, was offered the store building as a keepsake.

Sgt. Kris Hall of the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office HEAT Unit has been honored with both the MADD Georgia Golden Shield 2023 Officer of the Year Honor and the MADD Georgia Golden Shield 2023 Officer DUI Hero Honor for 204 DUI arrests.

   Habersham County’s Board of Commissioners completed its overhaul of their ethics panel Monday night, disbanding the citizen panel and empowering members of the surrounding legal community to deal with complaints against high-level county leaders.

The first full week of May is recognized as Teacher Appreciation Week, and Habersham County Schools wanted to show their gratitude for the teachers in the district. Fairview Elementary held a teacher appreciation breakfast, provided by parents at the school.
