Habersham volleyball seeks return to playoffs

The Habersham Central volleyball team begins the 2021 season Tuesday, using intangible strength to rebuild toward a playoff return, despite currently having an undecided rotation. “We are really just learning to play together,” Raiders coach Lindsay Herrin said.

Ready to start anew

Tallulah Falls School had a successful academic year despite the pandemic, but it was not quite whole. This year, TFS is getting all of its international students back who were unable to come over during the COVID-19 shutdowns.

Former judge remembered for big heart

Ann Adams gave everything she had to the people in her life, including her friends, family and those she served in Habersham County. The former probate judge died July 28, leaving behind a community full of folks who loved her and remembered how she loved them back.

Baldwin considers rollback on millage rate

Baldwin’s City Council considered whether or not to roll back the city’s millage rate during a Tuesday meeting. With Baldwin’s current millage rate for 2020 at 7.504, a potential rollback would put that figure at 6.793 for 2021.

Hospital Authority turns 75

Habersham County’s Hospital Authority celebrated its 75th anniversary Thursday, as it was formed by resolution Aug. 5, 1946. The original resolution was born out of the Georgia General Assembly’s “Hospital Authorities Law” of 1941.
