Cheerleading teams hope for full experience this year

Habersham Central cheerleading emphasizes values of academics and chemistry that extend for both sideline and competition teams to outreach beyond the arena.

As election filing in Habersham County comes to a close this week, incumbents on the Baldwin and Clarkesville city councils look to maintain support from the voters who put them there. Baldwin Mayor Joe Elam, who qualified Aug. 17, conveyed a message of optimism regarding the future of the city.

Hospital offers $400 incentives to employees for vaccinations

Habersham Medical Center is offering $400 to employees who have been or choose to become vaccinated in the next eight weeks. The program is called Keep Habersham Medical Safe, and it is for all full-time, part-time and contract employees of the hospital.

Cornelia wins top community honor

The city of Cornelia took home two awards from the 2021 Georgia Downtown Association (GDA) Conference held at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris on Wednesday, including the association’s highest honor.

Ethicon to mandate vaccinations for employees

Beginning Oct. 4, all employees at the Ethicon plant in Cornelia will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. A letter was sent to employees earlier this week informing them of the change seven weeks before it would take effect.
