Plenty of golden memories

   When Dennis Cathey was growing up, he never knew a lawyer.    As a senior at Rabun County High School, he was set to attend Georgia Tech and become an engineer, but realized his true interest was law.

Habersham United Way reaches $600K goal

   Habersham County United Way went big this year in hopes of raising $600,000, and they accomplished that goal thanks to local donors and businesses who had a heart to help others.

Schools set up plans for eclipse

   A partial solar eclipse will dawn over Habersham County on Monday April 8, and local schools will release students two hours early and excuse all absences for the celestial phenomenon.

Habersham schools honor top teacher, supporter of the year

   Nerves and gratitude were high last Thursday evening at a banquet honoring Habersham County’s Teacher of the Year and Support Person of the Year. Honorees were Daniel Medders, fifth grade Teacher at Level Grove Elementary School, and Linda Garrett, school bus driver for Habersham County Schools.

Habersham Central to honor alumnus doctor

   Dr. Aaron Scott did not know that his mom was working behind the scenes on his behalf.    Sheree Parrish of Cornelia is proud of her son’s accomplishments, so much so that she got him nominated for the Habersham Central High School Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor he will receive for 2024.
