Code blue crisis situation - Sheriff’s force getting dangerously thin

Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell pleaded with county commissioners on Monday to allocate resources to help the sheriff’s office recruit and retain officers after four of his men left law enforcement altogether last week.

Stamey steps down from county commission

Tim Stamey has never been afraid to speak his mind, but Monday, he spoke from the heart. Stamey announced his resignation Monday as a county commissioner after 16 months on the job, citing health concerns and advice from his doctors. Stamey said he had a minor heart attack on Feb. 22.

Crash on Highway 15/441 sends three to the hospital

New bill could affect Clarkesville liquor sales

Red Black may have been the best of them all

Throughout Habersham County, the Black family name is nearly synonymous with Raider football. And this year, the family will have another member's name woven into history, as the late Jerry "Red" Black now joins the Ring of Honor.  Red played for North Habersham High School from 1951-1954.
