Tallulah Falls Police make heroin, meth bust

Two travelers passing through Tallulah Falls on Friday night were arrested when a search of their car allegedly netted several types of illegal drugs.
A car heading northbound on Georgia Highway 15 was missing a headlight, and Officer Dakota Foster pulled the car over for a traffic stop.

Sheriff Joey Terrell announced Monday morning that he will run for a fourth term as Habersham County’s top law enforcement officer.
“I thank the Lord every day that I’ve been blessed to serve as the sheriff of Habersham County for going on 12 years,” Terrell said in a short press release.

North Georgia Technical College student wins GOAL award

Level Grove Elementary School is the first school in the county to become involved with EarlyAct thanks to its partnership with the Rotary Club of Habersham County.
EarlyAct is a school-wide service club for elementary students from ages 5 to 13.

County officials try to figure out what's next for jail

It has been nearly a year since the Habersham County Commission announced there would be a referendum on a proposal for a $31.7 million bond for a new jail.
After the referendum failed in November, the county was left with no solution to the problem and no idea what is next.
