   VFW Post 7720 held an indoor Memorial Day ceremony on Monday despite the inclement weather. The rain did not stop veterans from honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States of America.

Gang’s drug network takes hit in Habersham

   The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) made a major gang bust in Habersham County earlier this month, but the group operating here was not the kind of gangs most folks think of from large urban areas.

Lifetime achievement winner Scott remembers where he came from

   Habersham Central High School honored its 1991 alumnus Dr. Aaron Scott with the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony held Friday, a few hours before graduation, where Scott gave the commencement speech.

New wave of ‘Next-Level Indians’ sign for college

   Twelve student-athletes from Tallulah Falls School were celebrated for signing to play their respective sports at the collegiate level on Thursday, May 23.    According to TFS Athletic Director Scott Neal, this group of spring signees is the most the school has had signed in one year.

What a year it was in sports

   There’s no arguing with the facts. In terms of collective athletic success, the 2024 spring sports season was the most fruitful season in Habersham Central history. In fact, the 2023-24 academic year as a whole is right up there in the books as well.

Grads ready for final walk

   The greatest Day of the Raider on the calendar has arrived once again.    Tonight at Raider Stadium, 488 graduates from Habersham Central High School and the Success Academy will walk the stage and see their high school experience culminate in style.

Tribe signs off on historic 2024 season

   Just a few days removed from its return from the GHSA state championship in Statesboro, the Tallulah Falls baseball team held its end of season banquet Tuesday night at the school.    TFS President and Head of School Dr. Larry Peevy took the podium first to address the team.
