Lady Raiders get early start on offseason workouts

   In the Spring of 2019, Habersham Central girls basketball coach Bill Bradley and wife Kim noticed a void during the hoops offseason. So, taking some big time initiative, Kim spearheaded an SQA campaign. SQA stands for Speed/Strength, Quickness and Agility.

TFS gets two top 10s in state; Lady Raiders take 9th

   The golf teams of Tallulah Falls School competed in the boys and girls state tournaments for Georgia Class A Division I on Monday.

Photo contest open for Lake Living magazine

   Summer at the lake is a great way to relax, enjoy a wide array of recreation opportunities and make family memories that last a lifetime.    Lake Living magazine is looking for photos that represent summertime at one of Northeast Georgia’s beautiful lakes.

Stribling hired in White County as assistant superintendent

   Dr. Jonathan Stribling is leaving Habersham Central High School after seven years as principal to become assistant superintendent of White County Schools.

Voters make their choices

   Election Day arrived Tuesday, and decisions about Habersham County’s future were on the line in multiple races.    A majority of the county commission faced opposition for their seats, as eight candidates vied for three positions on the board.

WWII hero Negra honored in two places

   VFW Post 7720 in Cornelia held a celebration Monday for Andy Negra’s 100th birthday, which falls on the day following Memorial Day this year.    Negra, a World War II veteran and field artillery Sergeant, spoke at the event, “The only thing I want to say is thank you very much.

School zone cameras fund public safety needs

   School zone cameras in Habersham County have generated millions of dollars in recent years, and state law says the revenue can only be used “to fund local law enforcement or public safety initiatives.

Raiders test their skills in stalemate with Hart

   The Habersham Central football team welcomed Hart County to Mt. Airy Friday night for the two clubs’ annual spring game.    Rather than the typical rules and nuances you might see in a regulation game, things were more relaxed and controlled Friday evening.
