On July 21, Herschel Walker visited Jaemor Farms in Alto. Walker spoke to members of the media, held a roundtable with leaders in the agricultural community, and walked through the market to speak with supporters. Walker learned more about the issues farmers today.

   Tallulah Falls Town Council voted Thursday night to approve the agreement with Habersham County to sign onto the Roads & Bridges SPLOST initiative for the November ballot.

It was a packed house Thursday night with more than 1,100 members and guests at the Habersham EMC’s 84th Annual Meeting at the Ninth Grade Academy. After enjoying a barbecue meal, the members got a healthy report from CEO Brian Ferguson that the cooperation was growing and thriving.

FBI looks into bomb threats

North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) was one of a handful of colleges across the state of Georgia to receive bomb threats Monday. The threat came in on a 911 call and claimed there was a bomb in the computer lab of the Visual Technology Center building on the Clarkesville campus.

English program seeks a new home

Volunteer for Literacy’s English Language Acquisition (ELA) program, which provides free classes to English language learners, is looking for a new home as they prepare to start their classes after Labor Day.
