The Mountain Laurel Festival delivered everything it promised Saturday, as folks gathered for fun, treats and fellowship.
The parade, sponsored by the Clarkesville Lions Club, kicked off the day with vehicles, creatures and princesses of all shapes and sizes.

BREAKING: Shooting near church causes soft lockdown of schools

A shooting at a church in proximity to the Ninth Grade Academy and Habersham Central High School caused a soft lockdown of all Habersham County schools Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Joey Terrell said the shooting did not occur on the school campus.

Raiders get a spring test drive against Hart County

Habersham Central will get a sneak preview of its 2022 squad at a controlled scrimmage against Hart County tonight at Raider Stadium.
The game will likely use the chains and the clock, but each team will get 10 plays on offense and defense before different squads of players are swapped in.
