Teachers begin prepping for new year

As students enjoy their last week of summer, Habersham County school teachers are preparing their classrooms for another year of learning. The first day of school for the Habersham County School System is Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Demorest appoints Simonds interim city manager

The city of Demorest has appointed City Clerk Kim Simonds to the role of interim city manager following an executive session of Tuesday evening’s work session.  “I’m honored to be considered for the position,” Simonds said.
