By Zach Taylor Northeast Georgia experienced a heat wave over the weekend and began the week in the 90s, but the Tallulah Falls Volunteer Fire Department did not let the heat get to patrons of Tallulah Gorge State Park.

By Hannah Caudell and Landen Todd Habersham’s famous School Bus Graveyard is the newest victim of vandalism after previous attempts in and around the town of Alto.
The first $277,778 collected each month will go toward paying the debt service on the bonds for the new jail. Remaining SPLOST funds will be divided between the county and cities each month.

By Samantha Sinclair Qualifying for the Nov. 4 municipal elections starts Aug. 18. The election features races for mayor in four cities, as well as several council seats in five cities. Qualifying period begins Monday, Aug. 18 at 8:30 a.m. and ends at Friday, Aug. 22 at noon.
