Demorest Elementary fifth graders made an appearance at the Habersham County Senior Center on Tuesday morning to show off what they’ve learned through participating in Teach One to Lead One (T1L1).

New animal shelter likely to cost triple

Baldwin restores animal services

The City of Baldwin’s council is expected to discuss the expense of animal control for the city’s use this Monday. After the Habersham County Board of Commissioners voted to approve an intergovernmental agreement for Baldwin on Monday night, the approval now lies in the hands of Baldwin’s council.

Drone helps find missing youth

Units from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and Habersham County Emergency Services responded at 11:40 a.m. Monday to a home off North Mize Road, where a compromised juvenile had wandered away from home.

Habersham County Animal Care and Control recently celebrated the anniversary of acquiring shelter dog, Mutley. Mutley was originally found on Dicks Hill Parkway, where his owners had abandoned him.

Kogod followed ‘passion’ to work for schools

Sheriff Joey Terrell valued his chief deputy, but he could see that Col. Murray Kogod’s passion lies in schools. Kogod handled a variety of duties at the sheriff’s office, but he will start as the Habersham County Schools’ safety director on Monday.
