Leaders make school safety top priority

Everyone involved with school leadership across the nation cringes every time there is a shooting incident somewhere, and they know that something like that can happen anywhere in today’s climate.

Lt. Col. Preston McConnell, a member of Habersham Central’s 1991 graduating class, has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 HCHS Lifetime Achievement Award, the fourth year the award has been given since its creation.

McGahee qualifies for Olympic shooting center

Tallulah Falls’ rifle team member Joseph McGahee was recently invited to the Colorado Springs Olympic facility for both State Olympic Standing Air Rifle (SAR) and 3 Position Small Bore (SB), .22 rifle.

TFS vets threat hoax on campus

A quick response Monday by law enforcement at Tallulah Falls School proved a threat to the school to be a hoax. Tallulah Falls Police and school security responded to a telephone call relating to an alleged shooting at the Tallulah Falls campus. That report was quickly determined to be false.

Fellowship, fun brings new PALs

In coordination with Habersham County Schools, Piedmont University hosted the annual Piedmont Athletic Lions (PAL) event on Friday. Due to COVID-19, this was the first time many students present had gotten the opportunity to experience this day filled with fun and friends.
