Habersham Central crowned Haley Vieira its new queen Friday night at their homecoming game. There was an eruption of cheers when Vieira’s name was called. She walked out with her father, who couldn’t hold back the tears when she won.

Multiple drugs found on probation check

A man undergoing a routine probation check ended up arrested on multiple drug charges Friday. Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators responded to an Alto home in reference to a request for assistance by the probation office.

Fire on the Mountain

Fire on the Mountain made its debut Saturday as a new festival in Cornelia honoring first responders from emergency, fire and law enforcement. The event included a parade and plenty of fun for all ages.
