VFW Auxiliary names officers

Slow process at industrial park questioned

Drugs hitting hard in rural counties

Habersham County is experiencing the impact that drugs can have on local communities  firsthand. All year, the sheriff’s office has been bombarded with arrests, car accidents, police chases and overdose deaths that can be traced back to drug use.

Helping Habersham take flight

Before the Habersham County Airport became the state-of-the-art facility it is today, Mary Marvene Tatum and her husband James “Jim” Hugh Tatum helped to build it up through its very humble beginnings.

Cornelia clerk receives Lifetime Achievement Award

One way of demonstrating love is through service to others, and Cornelia City Clerk Janie Henderson has done that over the course of her 39 years of service to Georgia cities.

Habersham County School job fair set for next week

Habersham County Schools’s nutrition and transportation departments are holding a job fair next week to hire additional school bus substitute drivers, school bus monitors and cafeteria workers for next school year.  The job fair will take place on Tuesday, June 15, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Cornelia officer earns advanced training

Cornelia Police Department Sgt. Alexander Rivera recently completed a course in Advanced Traffic Law, which is required by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council for Advanced Certification.
