The first box of 500 Moderna vaccines for COVID-19 arrived Wednesday morning at Habersham Medical Center, and the inoculations began within hours.
More than 100 hospital staff members were signed up to take the vaccine by the time they started around 2:45 p.m.

Baby alerts family to rental cabin fire

Just after midnight into the early morning hours Tuesday, four people escaped a vacation rental that caught fire thanks to a baby’s cry.
The call came in around 12:30 a.m. at 520 Turkey Crest Drive near the Habersham-Rabun county line.
