Do you have a great photo of summertime fun on a Northeast Georgia lake? Lake Living magazine is now accepting submissions for photography that could be featured on the cover of the magazine’s summer 2022 edition.

Mountain road trip pays off for motorists

A carefree Sunday drive through Northeast Georgia turned into an unexpected award-wining photo session for Dahlonega resident Rhonda Hardy recently. Though she did have one actual care while snapping what would eventually be the Mountain Traveler cover photo.

DPH details rising danger of fentanyl

The Georgia Department of Public Health discussed increasing fentanyl overdose deaths, COVID rates, and a mysterious hepatitis outbreak among children at its May meeting. Fentanyl-involved overdose deaths in Georgia increased 218 percent from 2019 to 2021, said epidemiologist Dr. Laura Edison.

Three look to unseat Clyde in District 9

Michael Boggus thinks North Georgia needs to be represented by an average citizen as was intended by the Constitution. Boggus, a crane operator from Commerce, wants to be that average citizen serving as U.S. representative for District 9. He previously ran for the position in 2020, receiving 3.
