Seniors welcome those other Raiders

   With Friday being Senior Night, there’s likely to be an abundance of emotions in Mt. Airy as Habersham Central welcomes North Forsyth to town.    Once the happy tears dry up and the game gets underway, however, all bets are off.

Dreary Friday the 13th for Raiders

   If the Raiders had plans of slowing down Gainesville, that plan was foiled within the opening 3 minutes of this past Friday night’s ball game.    The undefeated Red Elephants (7-0, 3-0 Region 8-6A) dispatched Habersham Central (3-4, 1-2 Region 8-6A) in blowout fashion, 49-7.

TFS aims to run it back

   The Tallulah Falls Lady Indians are set to appear in their 9th straight state playoffs, as the  program has entered the GHSA bracket in each season since 2015.

Santiago’s work ethic helps her earn chance at college hoops at Piedmont

   Habersham Central basketball alum and Cornelia native Gabby Santiago emerged as an unlikely hero during the Lady Raiders’ Sweet 16 run last season.    In the Lady Raiders’ playoff win over Lassiter, (Marietta) Santiago came through with 13 points.

Backup QB more than Passing fancy

   When veteran Habersham quarterback Carson Parker went down early in the Raiders’ game against Lanier last month, there was an air of uncertainty amongst the team’s supporters.    The team had just started playing its best ball and was riding a two game win streak.

Raiders focused on health, reset during open week

   Habersham’s matchup with Jackson County in Mt. Airy a week and a half ago had massive playoff implications for each club. The Raiders pulled out a victory in double overtime, allowing them to approach the second and final bye week with a refreshed sense of optimism.

Lady Indians win area, look to bigger goals

TFS softball takes crucial first steps in inaugural season

   All this season was about was learning the game, having fun, and building a solid foundation for  the future of the Tallulah Falls softball program. But Coach Jo Kimbrel and her Lady Indians  team did more than that – they won a lot of games.

MS Indians secure Southern Mountain Championship

   Tallulah Falls’ middle school boys tennis team beat Rabun Gap in the semifinals and Habersham in the Southern Mountain League Championship match on Wednesday evening, claiming their first league title since 2020.
