   Man, do things happen fast. A mere matter of days ago we were on the cusp of a fresh campaign. The slate was clean of last year’s transgressions and the Raiders were taking the field, ready to make a run.    Now, two weeks removed from that palpable feeling of renewal, all is lost.

Raiders soul searching after White County loss

   The Raider faithful descended on White County Friday hoping to see their beloved orange and blue bounce back after a brutal opening loss. Instead, Habersham was unable to ever get a foothold, falling to 0-2 with a 34-6 loss.

Habersham Central football has fallen victim to Stephens County plenty of times. What’s hard to argue, however, is that any of those previous occasions stings quite like Friday did – and will. Raiders Coach Benji Harrison summed it up best. “That one hurt, there’s no way around it,” Harrison said.

Lady Raiders split thrilling doubleheader

It was a wild Thursday night on the hardwood for Habersham volleyball. The Lady Raiders beat Lumpkin County (16-25, 25-16, 20-18) in a matinee matchup before dropping the nightcap to Banks County (19-25, 25-22, 13-15). Both matches were thrillers.

Raiders open XC season Habersham Central Cross Country made a trip to Winder Saturday to kick off its season at the Apalachee High School Season Opener 2023. The Hotard twins got their new campaign off to a solid start.
