Lady Raiders trample Elephants

   Habersham Central softball picked up a pair of much-needed victories Tuesday in Mt. Airy by sweeping a doubleheader against Gainesville.    Habersham (3-10, 2-2 Region 8-6A) took Game One 16-1.

Savage fills key role in Raider attack

   Often when one thinks of a utility player, they picture an athlete who’s not only capable, but who’s also willing to serve whatever role best serves their team in any given situation. Someone whose presence serves useful in a multitude of scenarios.

Day hike turns to dog rescue for outdoors group

Comp plan trends toward small-town values

   While getting folks to show up at public meetings for the Habersham County Comprehensive Plan has been a struggle, the plan did receive hundreds of respondents’ worth of feedback to formulate its main concepts and direction.

   The Chattahoochee Mountain Fair is potentially the biggest and best ever, with expanded entertainment, animal attractions and just plain more fun.

Lady Raider softball has time to turn things around

   It’s easy to glance at the Lady Raiders’ record and dismiss this season as one to forget for the Habersham Central softball program. If you were to watch most of the games, however, you’d realize the team is more competitive than its record suggests.

Raiders look inward with Central Gwinnett looming

   An open week came at an opportune time for Habersham Central football, at least according to Coach Benji Harrison, who says his team was able to use the week to work on getting back to the basics.    “Last week really gave us an opportunity to focus on us,” Harrison said.
