Rowdy for the Raiders

   Habersham Central’s football team has not started the season the way it hoped, opening the campaign with two losses. But there is one thing the Raiders can count on no matter their record – the unwavering support of their student section.

Hendrix decides not to seek second term in Demorest

   Five of the six municipalities with seats in Habersham County will have at least one contested race in the Nov. 7 general election. Cornelia will not need one, as Mayor John Borrow and Commissioners Mark Reed and Tony Cook will return unopposed.

Lady Raiders look to find their groove at home

   Habersham volleyball split a doubleheader Thursday evening, falling to East Hall (8-4) in a three-set thriller before sweeping Stephens County in the nightcap.    Amayah Dooley was once again a reliable presence at the Lady Raiders’ libero spot.

Raiders soul searching after White County loss

   The Raider faithful descended on White County Friday hoping to see their beloved orange and blue bounce back after a brutal opening loss. Instead, Habersham was unable to ever get a foothold, falling to 0-2 with a 34-6 loss.

TFS Competitive Pony team shows off in competition

   The Tallulah Falls School Competitive Pony team traveled to Bowling Green, Ky., to compete at the Class A Miniature, Shetland and Show Pony Blue Grass Round-Up on Aug. 19-20.

   Pitts Park hosted an event on Saturday for children affected by addiction. The event featured art vendors, face painting, and Christian rappers from Northeast Georgia.

COLUMN: Raiders down, but far from out

   Last Friday night was eventful to say the least. This community was chomping at the bit. You could see it the second that bottleneck traffic began to form in the vicinity roughly an hour before kickoff. The JLB was packed.

Full speed ahead to Cleveland for Raiders

   When the Raiders take the field behind enemy lines this evening, they’ll be doing so with clear heads, Habersham Central coach Benji Harrison insists.    “How the game last week ended doesn’t affect how good this football team is,” Harrison said.

Art-Full Barn celebrates 25 years

   The Art-Full Barn celebrated 25 years of serving the creative community in Habersham County at en event Saturday. The event was a huge success, with demo stations, a hydro-dipping station, giveaways, discounts, and local artists showing off their work.
