Demorest honored two community members Saturday whose namesakes adorn landmarks at the park in the burgeoning new center of the community.    Dozens gathered to rededicate Brent Lee Moore Park and the Eagle Scout project within it that was originally done by the late Travis Roseman.

Christmas fun coming soon to a town near you

Clarksville’s downtown Christmas parade will celebrate 200 years of history in the city with the theme “Christmas Through the Ages,” honoring Clarkesville’s bicentennial.    Vintage cars, costumes and floats will cruise the parade that runs north on Washington Street, and ends at the old courthouse.
The winner will be eligible for a $10 McDonald’s gift card and will be recognized in the Dec. 6 edition of The Northeast Georgian. The deadline to submit your picture is Monday, Nov. 27. There will be winners selected from three age groups, 3-5 years old, 6-9 years old and 10-12 years old. Please include the name, age and a phone number to contact. Turn in coloring contest pages to The Northeast Georgian’s office at 2440 Old Athens Highway, Cornelia.

The City of Baldwin broke ground on the site for a new 7,000-square-foot public works facility on Industrial Park road Wednesday morning. The facility will replace the current building located off of Willingham Avenue, which Mayor Stephanie Almagno said is not up to the city’s standards.
