Habersham Central crowned Haley Vieira its new queen Friday night at their homecoming game. There was an eruption of cheers when Vieira’s name was called. She walked out with her father, who couldn’t hold back the tears when she won.

A man undergoing a routine probation check ended up arrested on multiple drug charges Friday. Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators responded to an Alto home in reference to a request for assistance by the probation office.
