‘A good and kind man’

Steven Ward’s legacy of love and friendship lives on far beyond his four years as a Clarkesville City Councilman. Ward died unexpectedly Saturday at Habersham Medical Center after a heart attack, according to Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire.

Fatal crash on Old Cleveland Road

   A high-speed crash on Old Cleveland Road killed the driver and left first responders searching for any other possible victims, though no one else was found.

CAMP helps Habersham County’s migrant students

Demorest kicks off Habersham’s week of Christmas celebrations

Residents gathered Wednesday to celebrate the holiday season in downtown Demorest, where a crowd of dozens sang Christmas carols and prayed as a community.

Akins elected to county commission

It took 28 extra days, but Ty Akins was elected Tuesday as the new Habersham County Commissioner for District 5. The election will be officially certified today, but it is unlikely to change the outcome of the scantily attended runoff that included the participation of just 4.
