More than two weeks after a near-fatal car crash, Sam Ferguson started fully breathing on his own again. Ferguson, 23, of Cornelia was involved in a crash in Lumpkin County on Oct. 30 that put him into a coma, where he has been ever since.

Judge investigated after domestic incident

State judicial officials and the Georgia Supreme Court are looking into a domestic incident involving Habersham County Chief Magistrate Judge Gerald Johnson. On Oct. 18, Habersham County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fairview Court area after a report by neighbors that shots had been fired.
