A picture sent by one student to another on Snapchat with one of them holding a BB gun was investigated Tuesday as a possible threat at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy (NGA).

COVID hits all-time high in Habersham

Habersham County is at its largest seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases of the entire pandemic, according to data from the Department of Public Health. There were 155 cases reported Sept. 2, more than doubling the previous high for a single day.

The Chattahoochee Mountain Fair returns to Clarkesville on Friday, and organizers are taking every precaution to make sure fun can be had by all amid the rising COVID-19 numbers.

Cornelia mourns ‘trusted leader’ Dodd

   Cornelia Commissioner Wesley Dodd died Wednesday and left a legacy of service to his city and the community at large.    A statement from the city of Cornelia said officials were “deeply saddened” by his passing that resulted from what they called “a short but vigorous battle with cancer.
