Habersham Medical Center preparing for potential COVID cases

   As Georgia’s cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus surged past 1,000 Tuesday, there were still no reported cases of COVID-19 in Habersham County at press time for The Northeast Georgian.

Funeral homes adjust during crisis

   Funeral homes are another one of the many businesses currently having to make adjustments to the continued spread of COVID-19.    The Northeast Georgian spoke to three different funeral homes in Habersham County: McGahee-Griffin and Stewart, Whitfield and Hillside Memorial Chapel and Gardens.

Miller dropping out of District 5 county commission race

   Due to impending medical procedures, Randy Miller has decided not to run for Habersham County Commissioner in District 5.    Miller was set to run against incumbent Commissioner Tim Stamey and challenger Locke Arnold in the Republican primary, along with Democrat Mike Adams.

   Habersham County’s Chamber of Commerce is doing all it can to keep the train on the tracks when it comes to the local economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
