   Political dominoes are falling all over Northeast Georgia.    With U.S. Rep. Doug Collins (R-Gainesville) throwing his hat in the ring for the U.S. Senate, his seat in the House of Representatives will be up for grabs with no incumbent running for the first time since 2012.    Georgia Sen.

Local doctor works as official physician for U.S. Olympic team

   There are 30 doctors around the country who are the official physicians for the U.S. Olympic Team. They are paired to events around the world based on availability.    One of those physicians is Dr. Stuart Sanders, who practices internal and sports medicine at Habersham Medical Center.

   Councilman John Hendrix brought to the public’s attention that the city’s water and sewer bond is a step above the “speculative” or “junk” category at the Demorest City Council meeting Tuesday.     The city as a whole for the year 2019 was rated a Ba1, which just makes the cut for junk bond.

Road rage may have caused Highway 365 wreck

   A crash that shut down southbound State Route 365 for two hours Saturday may have resulted from a road rage incident, Georgia State Patrol officials said.    The wreck occurred near Cody Road, south of the Habersham Hills Cinema.

Sheriff’s Office searching for suspects in theft

   The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is searching for multiple suspects involved in a burglary.       Lt. Matt Wurtz with HCSO said the initial incident occurred on Dec. 7, 2019 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville.

Baldwin listens to resident's concerns about water, sewer connections

   The Baldwin City Council listened to concerns from resident Erik Keith regarding the connection fee for water and sewer.    Keith is planning to build a home on his 4 acre lot and noted the total price for connection for water and sewer adds up to over $7,000.

   After her niece was tragically killed in a traffic crash Wednesday night, Glenda Brito of Mt. Airy wants to know what really happened.    Georgia State Patrol reported that Stacey Lynn Cash, 21, of Lula was walking on Main Street near Lula City Hall around 7:30 p.m.
