Officials: Habersham-Banks land dispute is a social media ‘hoax’

   An alleged land dispute between Habersham and Banks counties that has made the rounds on social media over the holiday weeks is completely false, local officials say.

Local youth donates to hospital workers

   After months of planning and collecting donations from family and friends, Max Daniel, 10, of Cornelia, helped load up the family car and dropped off donations to employees at Habersham Medical Center as a “thank you” for all they do for the community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

   Habersham County can scratch off interim from Alicia Vaughn’s title as she was named permanent County Manager for Habersham County during Tuesday night’s Board of Commissioners meeting.

There is no doubt that outgoing Emergency Services Director Chad Black will be missed by Habersham County, perhaps more than anyone the county has seen leave in 2021. Black was recognized with a service award at Monday’s Habersham County Board of Commissioners meeting.
